Wehr Wednesdays #55

A new word or phrase from the Hans Wehr dictionary, every Wednesday.

لا يتزعزع unshakable

Root: ز-ع-ز-ع

Page: 438*

Example: “كانَ يَملِكُ إيماناً لا يَتَزَعْزَعُ”

Translation: “he had unshakable faith”

Note:

As we can see, this verb is derived from a quadriliteral (four-letter) root.

تَزَعزَعَ / يَتَزَعزَعُ is a form II verb—in terms of the quadriliteral verb patterns—and its مصدر would be تَزَعزُع.

You can check out all of my other posts containing quadriliteral verbs here, or take a look at the form IV quadriliteral verb we looked at in Wehr Wednesdays #23!

You can now revise all of the Wehr Wednesday vocab so far on Quizlet here to stay on top of things!
