Example: “يَحلُّ اللَّيلُ وَأَتَحَرَّقُ شَوقاً مِن جَديد، مُفَكِّرةً في المَسافةِ الشاسِعةِ المُمتَدّةِ بَينَنا”

Translation: “night falls and I’m overcome with longing again, thinking about the vast distance between us”

  • The form V verb we see in this phrase, تَحَرَّقَ / يَتَحَرَّقُ, refers to being consumed—either by fire (note the root, ح-ر-ق), or by emotions…
